What a home visit looks like

Your technician starts by walking the rooms with you. We want to know your “hot buttons”: the stain by the couch, the hallway that never looks clean, the room the dog prefers. Those areas get noted and treated with extra attention. Then we work through our six-step carpet cleaning process: pre-vacuum, pre-spray, brush agitation, hot-water rinse and grooming.

Traffic lanes and stairs

The paths people walk every day collect oily soil that vacuuming can't lift. That's what turns hallways and the space in front of the sofa gray. The dwell time and brush agitation in our process are aimed squarely at these areas. Stairs are included in every package because they take some of the hardest wear in a house.

Homes with kids and pets

We use green-certified cleaning solutions that meet the Carpet and Rug Institute's Seal of Approval requirements, and we rinse them out of the carpet before we leave. If pets have had accidents, our pet odor removal service and Pet Package treat the source of the odor rather than masking it.

Protector and deodorizing options

The Protector Package adds carpet stain protector and deodorization, which helps spills sit on the surface long enough to blot. It's our most popular choice for busy households. See all three packages on the pricing page.

Realistic expectations

Most carpet looks dramatically better after a proper cleaning, but some stains, like bleach spots, dyes or stains that have been set with heat, may not fully come out. We'll point these out during the walk-through before any work starts. And if spots reappear after we've cleaned, we'll come back and treat them at no charge.

The six steps, room by room

  1. Pre-inspection walk-through

We walk the rooms with you, identify the carpet's fiber, pile and soil level, and note the spots and areas that made you call.

  2. Commercial pre-vacuum

A professional vacuum removes dry soil before any water touches the carpet. Many companies skip this step.

  3. Pre-spray and dwell

Every room is pre-sprayed with a cleaning solution chosen for your carpet, then left to work for at least ten minutes to break down soil and oils.

  4. Brush agitation

A counter-rotating brush machine works the solution into each fiber. Think of it as a car wash for your carpet.

  5. Hot-water rinse and extraction

We rinse and condition the carpet, extracting soil, residue and cleaning solution so nothing sticky is left behind to attract dirt.

  6. Grooming

Finally we groom the pile. It helps the carpet dry and leaves the even, finished look of a professional clean.

Residential Carpet Cleaning questions

What counts as an “area”?
An area is up to 250 square feet. Stairs count as one area.
How long will it take to clean my carpets?
For steam cleaning, plan on about an hour and a half for the first three areas, then about an hour for every three areas after that. Stairs count as an area.
How soon can I walk on my carpet?
Drying time depends on the carpet, the method used, humidity and airflow in your home. Your technician will give you guidance for your job before leaving. Running fans or the A/C helps carpet dry faster.
Do I need to vacuum before you arrive?
You can't vacuum carpet too much, so it never hurts. But you don't have to: removing dry soil is the first part of our cleaning process, and we vacuum every job with a commercial vacuum before cleaning.
My spots came back after cleaning. What should I do?
Call us. If spots reappear after our cleaning, we'll come back and remove them at no charge. It rarely happens with our process.

Perfect work. Very friendly and professional. Treatment of carpets was superb. After completing the carpets looked practically brand new. I would definitely recommend to bring life back to anyone’s carpets. Would absolutely use again.
Michael P.Customer review
Charlie came to the house very well prepared for the task at hand. He and Jesse were very friendly and personable. We were more then impressed with the job that they did. I cannot say enough about Charlie. We are more than pleased and will definitely have him out again.
